証拠品の紛失を隠蔽（いんぺい）するため、別の物を証拠品としてすり替え虚偽の報告書を作成したとして、大阪府警は１８日、八尾署の警部補（５３）を停職６カ月、部下の巡査部長（３３）ら２人を減給１０分の１（６カ月）の懲戒処分とし、証拠隠滅容疑などで書類送検した。３人は同僚３人と酒に酔って電車内で騒ぎ、注意した乗客がたたかれたと訴えてトラブルになっており、暴力行為法違反容疑などでも書類送検された。
トラブル捜査の過程で「類似の物を用意した」などとやりとりした携帯電話のメールが見つかり、すり替えが発覚したという。
監察室によると、巡査部長ら２人は昨年６月、自営業の男性が車内に木刀を持っていたとする写真撮影報告書を作成したが、同１０月２１日に押収証拠品を点検した際、木刀が見当たらなかった。
警部補は「紛失」の報告を受けながら、署内の飲み会に出席。帰りに電車内で騒いで問題となったため、「紛失が発覚すればくびになる」と考えてすり替えを指示。巡査部長らが剣道場の木刀を持ち出し、虚偽の報告書を作成した。
本物の木刀は男性の車に置きっぱなしにされ、押収し忘れていた。
